Founded late 2014 in Montreal, Canada, the LAB RATZ play an incisive and spontaneous Psychobilly, borrowing their musical structures and their roots from the Rockabilly, their energy and their rage from the Punk-Rock and their offbeat humor from the Garage.
Charly GoPsycho, who had previously played in several bands including the Hypnophonics and Joel Kaiser & the Devil's Own, holds the double-bass and sings. He found Vincent Harnois at the stand-up drums, with whom he had played in the Maü-Maü. They were then looking for a guitarist and Johnny Toxic, from the Gutter Demons, decided to take up the challenge.
The repertory is made up of compositions based on mental disorders, laboratory experiments, saucy nurses and various hostile creatures. Quite quickly, concerts are held throughout Quebec.
A demo is recorded at the end of 2014, "In The Maze", then a complete album is recorded late 2015. His name: "Terror Is Loose!"
The album is finally released early 2016 on the famous German label Crazy Love Records on CD, vinyl 12-inch and limited edition colored vinyl, and it is distributed around the world through the specialized network.
Meanwhile, Johnny returned to the Gutter Demons. So he leaves his place gradually to a newcomer in the laboratory: Mick Decosse, guitarist in the Surf combo the Men In Gray Suits.
Concerts are still going strong, mainly in Quebec and Ontario, supporting bands like Rezurex, the Brains, Banane Metalik, Raygun Cowboys and L'Assassins.
Early 2017, Vincent leaves the band. The new drummer is Kustom Pat, who played originaly with the Gutter Demons, among other bands .
New compositions are now ready to be recorded, concerts resumes even more vigorously and the first trip of the LAB RATZ to Europe is announced.
